What Is Cupping Therapy?

Cupping therapy, an age-old form of alternative medicine, involves placing special cups on the skin for a brief period to create suction. It's sought after for various reasons, such as pain relief, reducing inflammation, enhancing blood flow, promoting relaxation and well-being, and serving as a form of deep-tissue massage.

While cupping isn't painful, you may experience a gentle pinch or tight sensation during suction. Many individuals immediately feel a release of tightness or tension following the session. The presence of small colored circles post-treatment is common, indicating the release of stagnant blood to the surface. These circles tend to be darker in areas with heightened muscle stress and chronic tightness.
